2017 News Update

Courtney aiming for Podiums in 2017
Warrenpoint’s Connall Courtney, the 2015 Irish 300 Production champion, who this year, made the bold step to jump into the BSB paddock with Ian Lougher’s ILR  Team to contest the Standard class in the British Motostar Moto 3 championship, will continue in this class for the 2017 race season. However this time, the 18 year old Courtney will contest the series with his own small team. Connall has experienced racing at British Championship level, he now knows he can compete & challenge on equal terms, and will be aiming for the top step in the Standard class of the Moto 3 Class. Team CCRacing have acquired a Standard Honda Moto3 bike for the British Moto3 Standard Class Championship, it is the ex-Dan Jones bike, which finished first in this year’s series. Reflecting back on 2016, It was indeed a steep learning curve this season for the Warrenpoint teenager, who had  never seen or raced any of the UK tracks before! but with the same determination that saw him win the 2015 Irish Junior Production championship, It didn’t take long for Connall to get into his stride & consistently challenge the top ten in a high quality field. With the continued help and valuable knowledge from Team Owner, Ian Lougher, Courtney progressed throughout the season, despite a nasty spill at Knockhill, where he badly injured his hand, thus missing the next two rounds and valuable track time. But 2016 is history and the schoolboy is eagerly looking forward to 2017, where he can’t wait to get testing the new machinery in preparation for the new season. Courtney also hopes to take in more races at Home next year, when the BSB events don’t clash. Connall and the Team would like to say a big thank you to Modern Tyres, MotoTech & M Whyte Contracts for their continued support in 2017, we owe our success so far to these businesses, & the support of our superb friends & family. Connall Courtney ; “Looking ahead to the 2017 season. The plan is to be in the British Superbike paddock again. We are in the standard Moto 3 class again this year. After doing the tough work of learning a new bike and all new tracks in 2016, it's a good feeling to have some previous knowledge of the majority of tracks on the calendar in 2017. Preparation is already underway for me, training and developing myself and I’m already counting down the days until we get underway. It can’t come quick enough!
